Dear YKVC

There are vague hints in the air that we might be allowed to re-enter Yellowknife from 6 September onward. However, I don’t want to deal in speculation and uncertainty. I think COVID taught us that much, if nothing more.  There is no certainty about anything right now since all highways are currently closed. As things stand, we will move our planned Kick off Sunday from Sunday 10 September to Sunday 17 September, but that too remains to be seen.  I will communicate and update in this space regularly between now and then.

Kingdom Kids is going to be a challenge to start before mid-October, since there was much the Team Leaders needed to plan for and put into place prior to kick off, but could not get to due to early and unexpected departure. Please bear with us on that score.  Once again, we will keep you posted regularly regarding kids church.

One thing we are able to communicate with certainty at this point is that there will be no Worship Service on Sunday 10 September. Please be sure to get the word out to everyone you come into contact with. Even if we are all back in the city by then it is far too difficult to pull together logistically at such short notice.

The Vineyard 5 step prayer model and gift inventory workshops are under review in terms of practical dates to run these. Once we have more certainty on dates of return, we will tighten up those dates, which are now more likely to be concurrent Saturdays later in October.

Since the communication to YKVC is currently coming from me, Jabin had a great suggestion.  If you would like to update the church family on where you are and what you are up to, please drop and email my way and we will put out a few V News editions next week with updates from various people scattered around the West of Canada.

Stay safe, keep patience, enjoy the time you can with family and remember that beneath it all are the everlasting arms.
