Dear Church Family,
I would like to let you know that my role is changing in the church formally starting next week. I will be stepping down from being one of the Pastors in the church and transitioning to serve as a volunteer. When Caleb and I initially stepped into this role, we discussed as a couple that we would commit to serving as a Pastor for four to six months and then re-evaluate whether it was sustainable for our family. Over these past six months, it has become clear that while this role has been deeply meaningful and enriching, it has also proven to be a bigger commitment than we are able to manage in this season of life.
With four young children, homeschooling, their various activities, Caleb’s academic and clinical commitments and shift-work, adding the responsibilities of overseeing small groups and worship has stretched our family beyond what is sustainable. After much prayer, reflection, and honest evaluation of how our family life has been impacted, we are sure the right decision is to step down for the sake of our family.
Serving in this pastoral role has been an incredible opportunity to learn, grow, and serve. It has been a blessing to work alongside the leadership team and to get to know so many wonderful people in our church more deeply. I would also like to express my sincere appreciation for the hard work and dedication of the Board of Directors, the Pastoral Leadership Team, and Pastors Jessica and Jabin. Your leadership, faithfulness, and commitment to the church are deeply evident and honourable. It has been a privilege to serve alongside such a devoted team of Christ centered leaders.
We remain grateful for our church family and look forward to serving alongside the many other wonderful volunteers in our church.
With appreciation,
Michaela De Putter
